The initial relatively high cost of materials, the involved installation process (requiring specialized equipment and personnel), and a relatively long installation turn-around time, have been considerable limiting factors to their popularity. Further limiting their use is the fact that as hard and sophisticated as these materials may be, they are also brittle in nature. This characteristic relegates these systems, essentially to low impact working conditions at best.

Alumaflex ™ Lining Plates, take advantage of the superb characteristics of Alumina, combines them with highly resilient, shock absorbing Rubbers all molded onto a backing material. The end result is a dramatically improved Impact Resistance, greatly broadening their effectiveness to locations of considerable direct impact. As a bonus, the most destructive element when two solids collide, (the absorption of kinetic energy), is much reduced. The highly resilient rubber simply reject it by transferring this energy right back to the original offender, further diminishing their wear rate.

Factory manufactured lining plates also means that they can be easily installed by any maintenance personnel virtually anywhere. Just bolt them on as you would any other traditional steel or rubber lining plate.
